How Method Uses Color Theory & Packaging Design in its New Good Karma Body Wash Line

Limited-edition collection at Target features uplifting mantras, unique scents and specific hues to bring about positive feelings.

Method has rolled the Good Karma collection, a new limited-edition range of body washes that is being sold exclusively at Target. The six body washes have “one-of-a-kind scents, mantras and designs,” according to the company.

The launch is a continuation of the brand’s Unleash Your Inner Shower platform, which taps into how consumers, especially Gen Z and Millennials, view showers as a transformational experience.

Method says the Good Karma collection was designed make every shower an opportunity to “manifest good vibes and share them with the world.”

Packaging Design for Positive Feelings

Method’s Good Karma collection will be at Target until Sept. 7.

Method says it harnessed the color theory of emotion to select the hues that would evoke a range of positive feelings. Each body wash is named after uplifting mantras and they are brought to life on the bottles through intricate multi-line illustrations, according to the brand, which is owned by SC Johnson, No. 4 in Happi’s 2024 Top 50.

For example, Inspired Motivation is raspberry pink (kindness, honesty) with a design using upward motion to inspire and lift one’s mood, according to Method. It has uplifting notes of coconut, nectar, and pineapple. Positive Energy, in coral (warmth and acceptance), has an energizing scent of strawberry, papaya, and guava.

The rest of the collection includes Serenity Now, Fresh Affirmations, Gratitude Goodness and Quiet Meditation.

The bottles are composed of 80% recycled plastic.

Good Karma will be available exclusively at Target stores and on target.com until Sept. 7.
